Terms of Service
Last updated: July 30, 2026
Agreement
These terms govern your use of Muraji ("we", "our", or "us"), a Quran memorization and revision app available on the web and as a mobile app. By creating an account or using Muraji, you agree to these terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of a school, masjid, or other organization, you confirm that you have the authority to bind that organization.
How we handle personal data is described separately in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. You must provide accurate information when signing up.
Muraji is available free of charge with a limited feature set, or on a paid plan. Individual accounts are intended for people aged 13 and over. Student accounts inside a classroom or family plan are created by a teacher or parent, who is responsible for those accounts and for the students who use them.
Plans and Billing
- Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period (monthly or annual) at the price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel.
- Free trials. Individual paid plans include a 7-day free trial and classroom plans include a 30-day free trial, unless stated otherwise at signup. We collect your payment details at the start of the trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the subscription begins and your payment method is charged automatically. You can cancel at any point during the trial and you will not be charged.
- Payment. Web payments are processed by Stripe; purchases made inside our iOS or Android apps are processed by Apple or Google under their terms. We never receive or store your card details.
- Price changes. We may change our prices. If a change affects your existing subscription, we will give you notice before it takes effect, and it will apply from your next renewal. Continuing to use a paid plan after that point means you accept the new price.
- Taxes. Prices are exclusive of any sales tax, VAT, or GST that may apply, which will be added where required.
Classroom Plans and Seats
Classroom plans are sold with a fixed number of student seats. Seats are pooled across all the classes in your account. Once you reach your seat limit, you cannot add or restore a student until you free a seat or move to a larger plan.
You may change plans at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately, with the price difference prorated. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period. If you downgrade to a plan with fewer seats than you have students, your existing students keep their accounts and their data. You will simply be unable to add or restore students until you are back within the new limit.
Cancellation and Refunds
You can cancel at any time from your billing settings or by contacting us. Cancellation stops future renewals. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep access until then.
We do not provide partial refunds for the unused part of a billing period. If you were charged in error, if a technical fault prevented you from using a paid feature, or if you were charged after a trial you had cancelled, contact us and we will put it right. We handle refund requests in good faith and case by case, and we would rather refund a genuinely unhappy customer than argue about it. Statutory refund rights that apply where you live are unaffected by anything in this section.
Purchases made through the App Store or Google Play are refunded by Apple or Google under their own policies, not by us.
What Happens If a Subscription Ends
If your classroom subscription lapses, is cancelled, or a payment fails, teaching features stop working: you cannot add students, set assignments, log recitations, or post announcements. Existing data is not deleted.
Students keep their accounts and their personal memorization history. Teachers and administrators keep read access to their existing records. If you renew, everything resumes where it left off. You can ask us to delete your data at any time, as described in the Privacy Policy.
Your Data and Content
You keep ownership of the content you put into Muraji, including your memorization records and any notes a teacher writes. You grant us permission to store and process that content only in order to provide the service.
Schools and parents remain responsible for the student data they enter. If a student adds their own email address to their account, the account becomes theirs, their memorization history goes with them, and their former teacher no longer has access.
The Quran text and any recitation audio in the app come from third-party sources and remain subject to their own terms. Muraji's own software, branding, and design remain ours.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Share an account, or resell access to Muraji, without our agreement
- Attempt to bypass seat limits, plan restrictions, or payment
- Upload unlawful content, or use Muraji to harass anyone
- Attempt to access another user's data, or interfere with the security or operation of the service
- Scrape or copy the service in bulk, or resell our data
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will contact you first.
Service Availability and Changes
We work to keep Muraji available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may add, change, or remove features over time. If we make a change that substantially reduces what a paid plan provides, we will tell you, and you may cancel and ask for a refund of the unused part of your current period.
Muraji is a study aid. It does not verify the accuracy of your memorization or recitation, and it is not a substitute for learning with a qualified teacher.
Liability
Muraji is provided as is, without warranties beyond those that cannot be excluded by law. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and if you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
Ending These Terms
You may stop using Muraji and close your account at any time from Settings. We may end or suspend your access if you materially break these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the service. If we discontinue Muraji, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export or retrieve your data.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms. If a change is material, we will update the date at the top of this page and notify account holders in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Muraji after that means you accept the updated terms.
